This week we attended the Deutscher Suchtkongress. The German Addiction Congress is one of the most important and largest interdisciplinary events on the topics of drugs and addiction in Germany. We had an opportunity to present the results of our study, "Methamphetamine in Central Asia."
The study examines changes in the production, trade, local distribution, and consumption of methamphetamine in Central Asia. Conducted as an express assessment between March and July 2025, the study is based on official statistics, media reports, and qualitative interviews with three groups of respondents: public health experts, law enforcement experts, and people who use drugs with experience in the use of methamphetamine or other stimulants.
